Hello all,
Just an update on my chairs, machining is done, some hand tool work, and I will be ready for glue up. I will post pictures after they are totally done. Quarter sawn white oak. Two of the chairs will have arm rests. Thanks for looking

Nice job Mike. I really like the design. How many hours do you figure you have on these so far.
take care,
John

Too many! I built all 4 at the same time. That does save you time, but there are about 60 tenon and mortase joints per chair. Alot of chisal work, and hand planing. It has been alot of fun.

They are looking great, Michael!

Are the arm rests for the arm chairs curved, and how do you plan to attach the arm rests to the frame?

I was thinking the exact same thing. Very impressive set of chairs...both the design and the fabrication.

Michael, they look great! Did you taper the seats front to back? It didn't look like it in the pictures. I'm sure that made things a whole lot easier if you didn't. Either way, they turned out fantasitic.

I like the way you carried detail from three table to the chairs...specifically the space between the seat frame pieces. That'll tie the set together nicely. :)
