I'd like recommendations from the community for crosscut and ripping blades for a Hammer K3 slider. I've been looking at the Felder and Tenryu offerings (Carbide processors), but would like know what people are using and happy with. Preferably, these blades are for cutting both hard wood and plywood.

Hi Wakahisa, I have 24 tooth rip blade, an 80 tooth ATB crosscut blade, and 80 tooth TCG melamine blade and a 40 tooth combination blade for mine.

I also have an old 60 tooth ATB for when the neighbourhood kid comes over with his prized piece of plywood he rescued from a ditch somewhere.

All of the above blades are FS Tools products, including the scoring blade in the saw............Regards, Rod.

Hi Wakahisa,

These are what I got;

For ripping
IW-30028CBD3 300mm x 28T

For combination
IW-25040CBD3 250mm x 40T

For cros-cutting (Solid Wood/Plywood)
IW-25080ABD3 250mm x 80T

They are working flawlessly.
Got them from Amazon for $60-70 each.

You can contact Mr. Iida in Tenryu (kiida@tenryu.com). He is very helpful.

The rip blade is really nice for long ripping on the slider. Despite of the large size, it's not noisy.

I haven't tried Felder blades, but I heard some of their 12-inch blades are very noisy.

Thanks Rod and Susumu.

Susumu, are you using the Tenryu blades with the stock riving knife?

Yes, I do. The stock knife can accept 250-350mm. So I assume I can use it...

Do you have any concern about it?

I were concerned about the stock riving knife's kerf being thicker than the blade's. I took my micrometer to measure the knife's thickness. It is 0.111". The Tenryu saw blades have 0.128" kerf (3.25 mm). The Hammer saw blade that came with the saw has 3.25 mm kerf. All is well. Thank you for your help.

I actually like the Silent Power blades sold by Hammer. They work well.
