how to make a lip balm case

My daughter wants me to make a lip balm case similar to the EOS (evolution of smooth) style egg cases.

Does anyone make a kit that has the inserts for the case and lid (that snap or screw together) so I can just make shells for both part? Kind of like Coffee mug inserts.

My recommendation would be to buy one of the EOS cases and make a thin walled shell to cover each half.
