I have a Porter-Cable 7118 router in my router table which is hooked into a Woodpecker switch on my Woodpecker Combo router table. I'm wondering if anyone knows of something I can plug the router into that would help me remotely control the speed of the router so I don't have to manually control it. I know this might sound a bit lazy, but I have the router enclosed in a dust capture box and it would be nice if I didn't have to open that but could dial in the speed at the table. Thanks in advance.

Not cheap, but hands down the best speed control for a router. You'll need to remove the stock speed controls, though.

Most commercially available speed controls cannot be used with a router that already has soft-start and variable speed. Be very careful with this. Honestly, the 7518 only has a few speed selections and while I rarely change mine, it's easy to reach into the cabinet and change mine by "feel".

I've installed this with my 7518 - works great! Bit of electronic know how installed, but not really that bad (and I enjoy electrical projects).
