Resting place for a new Norton medium india stone. Wood ID?

Made a box from some stair rail wood that I found on garbage pickup day. Medium india stone needed a box, so $10 stone got $100 box.
Wood seems like a mahogany, but very light and smells like a cinammon/clove spice. Smell matches santos mahogany description, but this wood dents very easily. Works very nicely. Any idea what kind of wood that is?

Whatever the wood that sure is a good use for it! the moulding makes a really nice box.

Thanks! It was fun chopping it since it smelled so nice. :) Wood was almost as light as cedar, but worked better.
After a further thought and checking some online pictures I think it could be a spanish cedar. I think I will make some pencil boxes out of my remaining piece.
