Wondering if anyone has an explanation for this--

--the line to the right of "IN" isn't supposed to be there. It's a ghost...

And it does show up on the plate:

It washes off easy enough, but no big deal, but on acrylic, it probably WOULD be a big deal...

I shot a video, from start to finish--
https://youtu.be/uEjVwzsXmww

Some notes:
It only does it on the 3rd "IN", but not the first one...?

I swapped the cyan and blue colors to see if it was anything to do with colors. No change

I rotated the lens housing to see if that would stop a reflection or something. No change.

After that I moved the entire job 2" to the right on the table. That put the first "IN" .45" farther to the right than the original position of the second "IN". Still no change.

So I moved the entire job 2" UP on the table. Guess what? ;)

As for tickle, for one my tickle is turned off. And, as you can see in the video, the lens only sweeps the I-N, the center of the lens doesn't seem to reach the line, yet it still fires a line there...?

I'm always telling people we have a ghost here.... ;)

OK so I tried changing the font. Went from Arial to Deja Vu something-- AND THE LINE WAS GONE!

but- the new IN didn't quite match the other IN, so I resized it to exactly what the first Arial IN measured, and-- THE LINE CAME BACK!?

So it's not a "font" thing.

I put back the Arial IN, and change it to curves-- the line engraved...

So I get to noticing, the font size is 11.999 pt. So for giggles, I threw out the IN, typed in a new IN then changed the height to 12 pt...

And the line is gone...

Just too weird!

Kev

Way back when I was using my 1998 ULS I'd run into that and we concluded, as I recall, that it was a corrupted file. I also had that occur with an Epilog I used to operate and we ended up replacing some electrical item on the motherboard.

Kev,
Are you using Corel?
If so, can you see the line in wire frame mode?

Not a corel user but if you converted the fonts to lines, is the line still there?
