I am cleaning up sone old pieces with Murphy's Oil Soap. I plan to just wax the existing finish afterwards to retain the interesting old "patina". I have a can of Renaissance wax I bought more to use on metal surfaces but I read on the can that it was developed for restoring furniture. Is Renaissance Wax a good choice to use on this old wood?
I also wonder about the inside of the carcasses and drawers. The old wood in these places has some major cracks and isn't getting any younger. I wonder if I should put some wax or something on it?
