I bought a saw with the exact same setup (actually mine had the stamped metal ext. and it looks like you have cast) minus the motor cover and was missing the tilt wheel and I paid 800$ I'm partial to my two PM 66's.

I recently got a '64 model 65 at auction. Is that a stamped steel extension wing or cast iron?

I'd say $850 assuming all is in good working order and decent aesthetic condition, would be closer to $1k if it was single phase.

I'm buying a vfd for some other tools that I bought, would it be worthwhile to add a vfd to it, and sell setup to run on 1 phase?

The
It has a cast wings, it is very heavy.

Wow, It's funny. There was a saw in Killien Tx CL that the pic looked exactly like this one. Floor, cast extension original fence and all, but it was single phase. It was 700.00 and it took a while to sell. It was also real hard to pass up. I figured two 66's was my limit. Three is just being a hog.

This one http://southbend.craigslist.org/tls/5198917371.html has been kicking around for a few months, started at $800 as i recall. I've been tempted to call but have resisted. Had it been a 3 HP, it would be in my shop already.

Earl, the Manual for saws of that era states that a 2hp motor was max for that saw. One of mine is a 1.5hp and the other is a 2.

Would there be a noticeable difference between the pm66 with 2 hp 3 phase and a vfd, and my unisaw with single phase 3hp?

Cody, if you're asking about power delivered to the cut, horsepower is horsepower when measured the same way. I don't believe 3 phase vs. single phase makes a difference in that respect.

I just noticed that there is a PM 66 3-phase saw on ebay right now that's set up much like yours. They are asking $1,250. It looks much rougher than your saw, has only a 1.5 hp motor, and the extension tables do not appear to be cast iron like yours.

If you look at eBay for prices, click on the Sold Items button to see what things actually sold for. What somebody is asking means nothing at all. I wish I had a dollar for every used thing I've seen on eBay that was listed for months at a price much higher than what you would pay for a new one from the manufacturer.

$300-$500 if someone wants to mess with it and update.
