can any give me an idea on the value of these 2 planes, lastest garage sale finds

the bigger one is a sargent 414, I believe type 4, from the research I did, on ebay they seems to go really cheap, like 15-20$ is that correct?

smaller is I believe a new stanley block plane 220 but I am not sure how new, is this still a good plane or is it after the cheapened them?

Value is anywhere from 5-10 for the block plane, and 10-15 or so for the jack.

But both can probably be cleaned, sharpened, and used.

That "maroon" colour? It is called "Cordovan" and was used before Stanley went with the Blue paint. Had a 9-1/2, for awhile. it could take see-through shavings with ease. Wound up selling it a while ago.

Happen to have one sargent #414 in the shop. Smooth soled. Not too bad a plane, even if it is a Type #5.

They are both capable of being good users.

Neither is a valuable collector item.
