Pretty special to me, Barry. I love the way the grains interlock. Well done.

Both very nice! The pattern in the bowl on the left is exceptional! I've not seen any segmented work quite like it.

Thanks everyone...I appreciate the comments....David....for the bowl on the left I decided to cut about 48 strips of Maple and walnut and see how it turned out...

I like them both! Looks a lot like the bowls made on a Ring Master.

What's the trick to gluing the half rings together? Clamping 45 degree cuts give me fits.

Thanks Sid, Rex and Steve.. glad you like them... Steve...The very first one I made I used the half ring method and as you say it's tricky gluing them back together with the angle (I use 35 degrees)...I had to be real careful not to apply too much pressure so they wouldn't slip. The last 5 bowls I have made I drill a small hole at the edge of each ring at 35 degrees just big enough to fit a scrollsaw blade through (about 5/64) and tilt the scrollsaw table to 35 degrees and then cut out the full ring. This method takes more time to cut out but you end up with full rings when you are done. Here's a pic of the rings of another bowl I did after cutting them on the scrollsaw ready to be glued up..(you can see the small drill hole at the edge of the rings)
