http://www.fine-tools.com/stemmeisen.html the Regular Chisels series.

Maybe Aldi are MHG seconds... which would explain the erratic supply.

Regular chisels do, to some degree.

My Aldis are marked "Workzone" and have German DIN numbers that show they were made/ registered by a company named "Meister" and I think they are in Thuringia like MHG. Meister's website shows chisels identical in appearance to the MHG and my Aldi chisels, except for the brand names on the handle: https://www.meister-werkzeuge.de/magento/handwerkzeug/oberflachenbearbeitung/hobel-stechbeitel/4004847719206.html (https://www.meister-werkzeuge.de/magento/handwerkzeug/oberflachenbearbeitung/hobel-stechbeitel/4004847719206.html) . The Meister chisels are a bit less expensive than the MHG ones shown. Could be the same manufacturer with different grades of steel - or it could just be various prices for the same product.

I'm sorry...but I am having trouble wrapping my head around this whole "chisels for Aldis" thing...

Not saying they're not good. It just boggles the mind. ;)

American Aldi chisels were made in China. Its clearly marked on the packaging. From what I can find, the ones in the UK were also Chinese made.

Matt. The Aldi chisels look a lot like those German ones, and also the Three Cherrys brand. Just a coincidence, I'm sure.;)

Grizzly also sell German style chisels that are made in China. The Aldi near me on Long Island has Chinese chisels.
I've found that some Chinese steel is of excellent quality.

I'll never give up my 30 year old Ulmia chisels, they get so sharp they'll slice my fingers open from 1/4" away😁
