I've never heard this one before: "board ripper/splitter saw". What the? Who calls a radio arm saw a board ripper?

Just guessing, but maybe someone who would call a Radial Arm Saw a radio?

just a little jest; assume it was Autocorrect messing with you

It's hard to get sarcasm across the Internet ;-) I've actually never had a problem with autocorrect and radial btw.

I have seen them referred to as radio saws many times. Sometimes as table saws. After all, they have a table. Don't get me started on those Potter & Cable tools, either!:D

Who calls a radio arm saw a board ripper?

Maybe someone who had a bad experience using it, being only able to get it to rip the heck out of some boards.

Wait John!

Are you telling me they are not Potter Cable tools?

You are better off pretending to be stupid on Craigslist, you will get more responses. Just this ad for instance; if the guy had called it a radial arm saw he would have had 5 people look at it. Now a world wide forum has posted his ad on their page and is discussing it. Because of his ignorance, he is getting exposure in the multitudes of what he would have otherwise.
