Made what I thought was a major score on craigslist today.
Brand new Delta 36-725 table saw $125! It came with no fence and no blade guard.

I have the fence covered with a nice Incra one. The blade guard costs $250. Thats not gonna happen. Not that I need it but they list the motor as costing $1200. Why, who, how, where. The whole saw costs $600 !!! In what universe does this make sense?

Anyone have any idea of something I could retrofit on there for the guard?
I also read somewhere about some kind of motor or mount brace upgrade on the contractors saws but I can't find where I saw it. Sound familiar to anyone?
Lastly, any other upgrades etc you guys recommend?

:D I finally have a big boy saw! :D

I have had this saw go a year and a half and it has served me well. Is the riving knife in it? That's the biggie. I hope you get many years of enjoyment from it.

I'll bet the majority of Delta 36-725 owners have removed the guard permanently, or never installed it. Place a wanted ad for one....you might score it cheap.

Nice score, I would forgo the blade guard all together, a removable riving knife maybe on some situations. The biggest add on you will need I think is a good outfeed table after that add a slab on the side for width perhaps with a router pate. Welcome to the big boy saw club.

I didn't even think about it, but Scott is right. I don't use the guard. Obviously, I am keeping the riving knife, but I will gladly sell you my guard for less $250 😄. How does $30.00 shipped sound?
