Has anyone gone from an older Rockwell 14" Bandsaw (with riser) to a Laguna 12 14. Would it be a decrease in quality to go the the newer saw if the Rockwell is well tuned and has all available upgrades installed (riser guides, tires, tension spring, wheel brush, 4 inch dust collection hole already cut from lower wheel cover) Kreg fence, etc. One of my complaints about the rockwell is the mechanism that raises and lowers the guides, it is a rather crude sloppy mechanism.
My goal it to accurately cut very thin veneer and have a saw that is convenient to adjust and operate would the Laguna be a step up?. One concern I have with the Laguna is the ceramic guides. I really don't want to deal with loud guides. Also, I have seen others comment on some manufacturing quality issues with some of the smaller details.
