Owned this jointer since late mid 2013 - faithful service until yesterday. Symptoms/Debugging attempts as follows:

1. Plug in/Turn on machine - Dead Silence (running on 110 volts)

2. Verified circuit for wall outlet is working

3. Fastened input line/load wires to line/load wires that lead to motor. Plugged in, nothing (dead silence).

Does this automatically mean new (or repair) required to motor? Any other suggestions or items to test or look for? Thanks.

Is there a thermal reset button on the motor? If so press it until you hear a click. Sometimes motors with thermal resets get hot from running because of sawdust accumulation in the windings and the thermal protection will pop after the motor is shut off. If the reset is there and the motor runs after resetting, blow the motor out with compressed air.

Problem solved. Really simple: connection between line input and motor became undone. Reattached connection, plugged in machine, voila; success.

Lee - many thanks for your input. Eric

Those electrons have are easily confused, sort of like ants when you put a stick across their path, they just don't know how to get into the motor....:D
