The weather here on the left coast has been dry, dry, dry. We usually have a little moisture here in the Pacific Northwest. This year it has been dry.
One thing that has never been a problem for me is handles being loose on socket chisels or planes. This year I have had more loose socket chisel handles than ever, including when I first started making handles. We are actually talking about maybe five or six at most so far. Mostly just a little trimming of the end and knock it on and it fits better than ever.
But now I have to think about all the plane totes that wiggled a little when they were being used. Most of them had their tote bolt tightened.
Today was high humidity and is expected to stay that way awhile. So now I should go around and loosen all the plane plane totes so they do not get stressed when they swell up due to moisture.
