laser marking on bone??

i have a customer who is interested in engraving on bone (nothing weird- custom knife handles)
has anyone tried this?
any tips?

Ian,

It does very well! The smell it creates is nasty but the engraving is nice treat it like wood you will be fine. You may also have to darken the engraving with shoe polish or something like that bone will normally turn a little yellow/brown. Do a scrap pc. first to get your settings right.
