Looks like something I would try to snap into hollow square legs to raise up something by an inch or two.............The clips fit inside or outside, depending on the orientation.

No clue! A can of beer in the picture would help add some perspective as to the size of the objects. Where did you find them?

The longest side is 1-3/4", the width is 5/8" and the depth is 1/2". They are not magnetic. They are fairly heavy. I think they were "maybe" used to set jointer knives or planer knives? I was hoping someone else knew for sure what they were for. They were in a drawer in my shop from 40 years ago. I am pretty sure they were either bought to adjust/install something or came with a tool for adjustment/installation I just can't remember what they were for :(
