Proper placement of drawer pulls on Queen Anne Connecticut flat top highboy

Finishing up my first Queen Anne piece. Any guidance on proper placement of drawer pulls on Queen Anne Connecticut flat top highboy? I have looked at many books and examples and seems it is more preference than anything else. On smaller drawer height, they seem centered, but on taller drawers it appears that the pulls are pushed more to the top as if the bottom of the bale might be centered and not the posts...

Thoughts anyone. Any guidance would be appreciated.

It is personal preference. I would center them on shallow drawers and then space them down from the top of the deeper drawers the same distance as that on the shallow drawers. Stick them on with double sided tape or hot melt glue and see how they look. If you like what you see, drill the holes, if not, try a different arrangement.
