A neighbor has asked me to repair a broken outdoor rocking chair, one of the existing runners snapped after weakening from rot. I have the remaining good runner to use as a template and the cutting/shaping of the new runners seems like a straightforward task. Question...does anyone have a good recommendation for what kind of wood to use for an outdoor rocking chair runner? The runners won't be steam bent but simply cut in a gentle curve and primed/painted. Any suggestions would be appreciated. THANKS...John
