I have been working on an open top steady rest to use with my camera hollowing rig. this is what I have come up with so far. Arms slide in and out and wheels adjust up and down.

Nice Sparky. Hmm now where have I seen that railing system?

You might consider different wheels with a smaller surface bearing area. One isn't always applying support to a flat surface. I sometimes position my steady on the convex shoulder of a form when starting the hollowing, and I don't think the wheels you have will permit that.

John I have a couple of sets of wheels. These wide skateboard wheels and a set of narrow rollerblade wheels like you mentioned.

Could it be 80/20?:)

Sparky,

I really like this setup. I'm not familiar with the type of metal posts you are using. Are those specially machined?

Greg. That is a product call 80/20. Is kind of like an industrial erector set for building all kinds of stuff.
