I just picked up a Stanley 90 bullnose plane off Ebay. What is the proper angle to sharpen the blade to?
Thanks.

According to http://www.supertool.com/StanleyBG/stan11.htm#num90bull it looks like 20 degrees?

Howdy Roger

Since you have been around awhile this is a belated welcome to the Creek.

Proper is a some what dubious term when it comes to blade bevel angles.

Do you have a way to measure the angle that is presently on the blade?

Does the current angle cause any problems?

The angles on my #90 and #93 would have to be measured before being able to tell where they are honed.

Thanks for the welcome. The blade is very dull so I haven't actually tried to use it yet. Thought I better try to sharpen it first. I can measure the current angle but I haven't even gotten it to the shop yet. Thanks for the response.

Mine is set at 25 degrees factory bevel and a sharper secondary bevel of 28 degrees (my choice)

A bullnose plane is more likely to be used on edge- than end grain, such as rebates. It is not a short shoulder plane (do not try to use it as one), which would plane end grain. I think that the bed is about 20 degrees. Consequently, I would hone the bevel at 25 degrees.
