View Full Version : Thinning Deft Lacquer Sanding Sealer???

Since my spray finishing (with Fuji Q-4) is never in a production mode (just hobby), my NC lacquer of choice for spraying is usually Deft Clear Wood Finish. I mostly thin the CWF 10 to 20 percent, but sometimes spray it straight from the can, as is. Also, I've never sprayed a first coat of Deft Lacquer Sanding Sealer, as Deft CWF claims to be self-sealing. Either way I get great results. However, because I have a pretty good supply of Deft Lacquer Sanding Sealer on hand, I may just spray that as a first coat on an up-coming project instead of regular CWF. Recently I read a finishing forum post that generalized that all sanding sealers should be cut 50% with solvent. As I'm pretty skeptical (have never sprayed the Deft sealer before) about the need for such extensive thinning, I thought I'd check with fellow creekers on this issue. What say you? Thanks.
