The Ruger .22 cal. air rifle recommends to use "Air Chamber Oil" and "Spring Cylinder Oil"
A quick search online shows for two bottles of oil ( one 1/2 oz, one 1oz) with shipping will set me back about $40. I see gun oil at the big box stores for $5.
I'm all for using the right product for the job but the above just seems like a money grab. Is there a cheaper alternative just as good.

I use Hoppe's no.9 (http://www.hoppes.com/)lubricating oil once a year, unless this not what you are looking for but it is a good oil to have around for only $3.97 @ Amazon:

Pellgun oil. About $3. Google it or look in the airguns section of your local sporting-goods store.
