See attached photos. There are a dozen of these tables. I suspect the finish has broken down as they have that "sticky" feel like a spilled sugary fluid.
There was a thread on this a number of years ago and I didn't find what I was looking for. Seemed the answer was a lacquer breakdn - likely from cleaning fluids.
The material is not wood and the edge banding is almost a little rubbery and I'm not certain what the field material is.
Ideas about how to check for the solution, and then what the fix might be?
(the earlier threaded mentioned indicated to clean with something like lighter fluid - and that would identify what the fix might be)
