Jethro & Ellie May make a small table:

-------------

If you can overlook the basic insanity of this project (making a table from a tree limb, that “had some bugs in it” no less) There is actually a very clever (if slightly dangerous) use of the tablesaw as a make-shift wide planer.

Skip to 7:35, unless you need a good laugh, in which case watch the whole thing.

Personally, if I had to plane a piece that wide, I’d use hand planes, but this is some interesting outside thinking here.

(I’m not as impressed with using a pickup truck as a vise. )

i just...i...dont...know how to ... process.

actually that surface planing on the table saw seemed to be the safest application of a table saw in the entire video. I was expecting some horrific accident while ripping the wet timber down to "squares" as they put it.

I"m subscribing to that youtube, though.

She's not hard to look at, either.
