Discolored Cherry

Brought home a sheet of cherry ply today where the end 18" was sticking out the back of the truch cap, in the sun. I now have an 18" band that's been discolored, does anyone know a way out of this or should I just use the two shades for different projects?

Would be Ok to put the rest of the sheet in the sun for the about same period of time? Perhaps throw some cardboard over the previously sunned area and move the cardboard slightly a couple of times to blend the line between the two areas. Just a thought.

Don't worry about it. The rest will equalize over time.
