View Full Version : In search of Excalibur SLT60 manual for gen2 or gen3 unit

I recently acquired an Excalibur SLT60 (in pieces) in a purchase of a cabinet saw, the saw was built in 2005 and the slider is probably around the same age. I'd really like to find a manual in PDF form for this older unit and haven't had any luck so far. Searching this forum found several references to these older units, so hopefully someone out here has a manual or the PDF. I've put the unit together enough to know what parts I need and have contacted General about the parts (and the manual). Apparently they don't have the manuals for the previous generation sliders or my request was lost in the parts availability/pricing inquiry.

The sliding table has a sticker that reads "Excalibur by General International", it is all black (except for the alum. extrusions), has 5 bearings (there should be 6, I need to order that one), and a UHMW tape contact strip for the saw side of the table rails.

Can anyone identify the generation from that info? Anyone got a manual or PDF they'd be willing to share?

Thanks!

Nope, that manual describes the current version (14 bearings, different saw mounting plate, similar but different leg support structure).

Thanks Peter, this one appears to be closer to what I've got though mine has General branding on it. The primary difference I see is the additional bearing that runs on the underside of the outside rail (which would probably be a nice addition).

No problem! One important point the manual doesn't mention - the legs of the table should be secured to your shop floor once you've got it cutting squared and parallel. I found it difficult getting consistent results otherwise.

Lynn,
If your looking for bearings for your Excalibur sliding table, I have the older model that uses 6 bearings and has the UHMW strip also and I replaced all my bearings, I got them from http://www.vxb.com/ vxb bearings, The size is a 6200-2RS the cost is $1.49 each. The bearing are holding up well. And it slides so smooth on brand new bearings.

That is a lot less than General wants (I was quoted over $11 each), or even other places like grainger. I haven't checked them all out yet, but the bearings that are there seem to be in decent shape but I'll definitely keep that link handy for future bearing purchases. The eccentric nut and bushing seem to be the parts I'll have to purchase from General but I'm only short one so the dominant factor is going to be shipping charges.
