This Montana boy just made his first trip/trips to Rockler. We are in Portland visiting our boys and they have a Rockler store in Beaverton so I made the trip to the store. Then I went another day and then I went today! I was like a little kid in a toy store. I found all sorts of stuff to buy. The first trip I stayed to small items, but by today I bought a dovetail jig. Wow, spent several hundred dollars. Don't want to add up all the sales slips, but got pretty cool stuff. Won't be back for a year, so spent a lot now!

First step on the road to ruin. Hang on, it gets bumpy.

In Houston, the Rockler store and the Woodcraft store are about 15 minutes apart. Talk about the road to ruin! :-)

Sounds like a pretty great vacation to me Michael!

My thoughts exactly. It's always a great time visiting a woodworking store.

Woodcraft was just a little ways away in Tigard.

I live 110 miles from the nearest Woodcraft store. Did I mention that the owners names are Nick and Rose Mary and their son who works there....his name is Ken.:o

Good for you Michael, enjoy the new stuff.
Rockler is about 15 min away from me and Woodcraft is about 40 min. I find Woodcraft to be more of a spontaneous purchase place for me. That extra 25 min drive has saved me a lot of $.

I haven't been in a Rockler. We have a WoodWorkers Supply and had a Woodcraft that opened up in 2009 and made it for about 3 years before closing.

I live about 10 min from a Rockler, so that's usually my go-to place. I work about 20 min from the Woodcraft as well, so I have both options at my disposal. It's nice to have stores that you can walk into, not just online only.
