Does anyone have this spindle sander? What are your thoughts on it? Is it underpowered at only 1/3 hp?Tha

Thanks

I've had mine for many years -- it has always worked very well -- drums change easily and the dust collection is pretty good (there are inserts for each drum size and a convenient standard vacuum hose attachment). It works for me for most work.

Works for me, but then, I don't use it much. I think the spindle sander is one item where you don't have to get the very best, and with this one you don't have to maintain an iron top.

Had mine since 03 no problems, and I use it alot. If you have a good vac hooked to it , I recommemd using ear protection, as the whistling noise when the spindle reaches the top, can get on your nerves very quick. It is easy to use, and light enough to be stored under your bench. Sanding drums can load up quickly depending on the wood being sanded, so recommed having one of those big sanding eraser's handy.
