I just had my 12" Dewalt draw saw pinched, not a problem since 98.

Question, are they still as good?

What is a draw saw? Might have different name in other places. Sorry about the theft.

That's maybe what we in the US call a radial arm saw? You run it by drawing the blade toward you.

A lot of shops have replaced "draw saws" with Sliding Compound Miter saws. More versatile and safer.

Sorry lads, I meant the Sliding compound Mitre saw.
The question, is there a better make these days, I note mine was the 1998 model.

Yes the DeWalt is still "good" but you might want to checkout the Bosch and take a look at the Festool Kapex. It comes down to how much more are you willing to spend for incremental improvements in accuracy.

Is the Kapex 12".

Not sure yet what the insurance is going to pay out, I have to pay 1st $300.

The Kapex looks beautiful, an extra $1000 for the amount of use I will give it, doesn't add up.
