Not knowing about such things as electrical, I need to replace my older Nikon battery.
The old one is 7.4 V 1000 mAH, the one I have found for the replacement is 7.4 V 2000 mAh. Does the mAH make a difference ? It is a Lithium Ion rechargeable.
Thanks

The 2000mah means it'll power the camera twice as long.
It's the voltage you need to match. It'll work ok.

Thanks, That is kind of what I thought. Just did not want to take a chance on burning out the electronics.

Just be aware that non-Nikon batteries quote often do not perform as well/long, despite the apparent higher mAH ratings stamped on them. They are lower in cost, for sure, but be very careful about what you buy and from whom. BTW, in some of Nikon's cameras, they've made some changes in firmware that sometimes affect operation with non-Nikon batteries.
