Vertical lumber storage - about time!

Oh man, just put in vertical lumber storage and absolutely loving it. My ceilings are just over 9' so longer lengths have to get stored outside under the shop's shed roof but I rarely use anything over 8' anyway. This was easy to put in, and what a difference. Boards stand nearly vertical and I can pull them out for inspection like a book on a shelf. Easy peasy. Brackets are straightforward, glued and screwed, and then screwed to studs.

A great use of space! If there's any potential for wicking up moisture from contact with the concrete floor, you may want to build a short platform underneath.

Yeah, thought about that, and I'm going to watch it but the concrete is on top of 2'+ of compacted gravel and foam board so ... we'll see.
