I finished the glue up on a table top sometime ago and am getting around to finishing the project. When I completed the glue up, I wasn't sure what I was going to do for the base but have decided on some metal legs made of steel flat bar. I need to attach some cross bracing to strengthen it. I'm still pretty new to this, so here's my question: should I glue the cross braces on or just screw them in? Would gluing them cause a problem as the wood moves?

Would gluing them cause a problem as the wood moves?

Probably, depending on the design of the leg structure. The top will expand and contract in width, so the structure and it's attachment system will need to accommodate this movement. Screws through slotted holes is one proven technique.

Why do you need to strengthen the top? What leg design are you planning?
Looks like you face glued the strips for the top, so you probably won't see much movement across it's width, but its always better to allow for movement than not.
