Just got a set of the Brusso Quadrent Hinges (small) for cigar boxes. Anyone have any instructions for installing them? I have the spec sheet it's not much help. Details on the process would be nice.

Evidently not. I haven't. Doesn't look too complicated. Even so, I would probably make a mock-up out of scrap and use that to set up the real piece.

Chuck, Brusso sells a template for their hinges and it costs more than the hinge! I made a router template to sit over the piece to be routed. It worked fine. I figured that since these puppies cost so much the extra work was probably worth it.

Chuck,

I've put in a couple of pairs of them. It's not especially hard. Use the hinge its self as your template. A bit of careful drilling with a forstener or bradpoint bit and a bit of chisel work and you're done. Make sure you have enough clearance for the slide to function properly. Here is a link from ShopDemos on doing it with power

There was a thread in this or another forum ( maybe WoodCentral or WoodNet ) sometime in the last 6-8 months with pictures. If you check the forums archives I'm sure you will find it. Use brusso quadrant as your search words, if you include hinge you'll be reading for weeks.

Chuck,
I've installed a few pairs of them. The most important thing to be careful of is, not drilling through the back of your workpiece when cutting the relief for the depth support post. DAMHIKT. They are very nice when installed, just take your time. Personally, I think they are very classy. Good luck.
