I've been trying to organize my hardware a bit. I had some metric mixed in here and there, fine threaded stuff everywhere, etc.

I don't have a handy-dandy thread gauge and was looking for specifications on actual D of various threads. I haven't found that, BTW. Like, what does a 5mm machine screw thread measure on the large D? It is slightly less than 5mm obviously, but what is it (typically)?

While I was searching I came upon this page:
https://www.boltdepot.com/fastener-information/printable-tools/default.aspx

They have a very handy listing of various hardware that you can use to ID imperial and metric thread sizes. The pages print 1:1, it is amazing how accurately the prints line-up to threads on fasteners. The washer identification guide is handy, too.

If you print the "All printable fastener tools" you get a 28-page document with some handy information.

Just thought I'd pass it along.

Just finished printing them all out, well most of them, now I will put them in my notebook in the shop.

Great stuff to have, thanks,,,,,,,,
