Hi to All,

I have several (read: about 240) 3mm slots, 200mm long to cut in 120 hard timber strips, 10mm deep.

Is it possible to have the tool path cut along one way, drop down specified amount for next pass, then cut its way back ?

At the moment I can only have it cut one way, pull out and traverse back to the start, then plunge down for the next pass.
This is talking heaps of extra time.

Any ideas out there (without manually altering the g-code) ?

Any help appreciated,

Cheers,
Chris

Chris...
There are a number of ways to do this. One is to use a {length} by .002mm width rectangle as the geometry. The other is to stack lines with start points on alternating ends. Both methods have been explained in more detail on the Vectric forum.

Thanks Gary,

Thats a great idea.

I also have to do this with a curve.

Have signed up for the vectric forum, just waiting on admin approval to post, but will also search there.

cheers,
Chris
