Before committing to steel

I'm designing an interesting product where a large dome lowers over a seat. Before committing to steel, I laser cut the hinge mechanism from 3/16 MDF to test articulation and fitment of the components. Doing this also let me know where to add gussets (ie. behind the bump stops). Just another way the laser helps me out with industrial design.

I like the quality of your layout, lots of smooth curves, no sharp corners. Its easy to tell when a pro is at work.

Nope, married 25 years in Feb. I NEVER leave the seat up, it was merely suggestion for Doug.

It's a meditation pod I'm building for a customer. Not top secret but I try to limit photos of projects until they are released in the wild.

Thanks. It was a ridiculous amount of work to design and build in 3 months. Especially since it was one of about 20 other jobs on the griddle.

More like 3 crazy worlds: freelance industrial design, hydroponic systems manufacturer, and Mid-Century-Modern "everything" manufacturer. Just yesterday, I landed a project engineering an enclosed fiberglass pod trailer for ATVs. The pod I just completed help get this new pod project. Interesting indeed.
