How simple is that? If you don't like it, simple take out, and plug the hole.
Take the screw out when not needed, lest you mangle your knuckles on it while turning the screw.
Infinitely adjustable.
put a small plate in the fixed face to receive the end/bear the force.
Is there a downside?
