What finish should I use?

I've really only tried one finish on my carvings, a beeswax based finish that I learned from Chris Pye. I like the finish, but I'm wondering if I'm missing anything. This is the biggest, most difficult carving that I have ever attempted and I want to put the best finish on it possible. What would you use to finish it?

Tom, I use Danish Oil on most of my carvings. they have different shades, if you like to kind of jazz it up. . .JoeB
