I am making bottle stoppers and a wine table. What finish would not be attacked by wine?

Chris,
Since wine contains alcohol, I would think any finish except shellac would work. On stoppers, I have used lacquer and CA glue for finishes.

I tend to use glossy poly on my bottle stoppers. They hold up well over time. I keep meaning to try CA, but figure I'd glue the threaded mandrel to the stopper...

For the table, post catalyzed conversion varnish would be a good choice. It is commonly used for restaurant tables.

My available choices are limited to location, but I have found spray poly to be a good choice. To help, I put a 3/8" bolt through a small board, thread on the stopper and spray. Actually, I made several of these setups and spray four stoppers at a time.
