Recently I did a couple hands-on sessions for local chapter members doing deeper than normal hollowing. I picked this style of form to give everyone amble opportunity to use the hollowing rig at various depths up to 12" deep. I posted a few pics of that first session awhile back but never finished it because it ended up just a bland piece of poplar and couldn't decide how to embellish it. Decided to try a little paint and this is how it came out. 3 coats of white CabinetCoat base with green Krylon bird emblem. Finished off with a few Hobby Lobby floral nik-naks. Second vase is cherry, cherry burl flowers with red painted plugs. Added a mini birdhouse along with a few birds and filled out with the floral greens.
