This wood had an interesting wavy grain pattern and numerous burls on it. These vases are 6, 5, and 4 inches tall and are finished with clear spray acrylic paint.

That is a cool grain pattern. Nice job on all three vases. I like #2 the best.

I love that grain! I'm a fan of #1, though I don't think I would have left the foot. Just personal preference. Question though - why acrylic? I picked up a can a few weeks ago and haven't gotten up the nerve to use it yet. How does it behave differently from aerosol poly, lacquer or varnish?

Thanks Wes, I use acrylic because it seems to behave better in lower temps. I mostly use it on pieces that are rather rustic. It is also inexpensive.
