New MM20- questions

Just had my new Minimax s500P (MM20) bandsaw brought down to my basement shop. I'm setting it up, and have a couple of questions to start.

I have not yet installed a blade, and am about to.

First, the upper wheel is loose, I can tilt it in out, and up and down, by about a half inch or so. If I don't pull it into planar, it rubs directly against the upper housing. I'm not used to this, my S45 bandsaw is not like this.

The lower wheel is fine. Is this normal? Doesn't seem normal to me....

Second, the instructions say to install a blade, first remove the clear plastic guard on the guide post. But the guard appears to be riveted in, with no way to remove it short of breaking it off. Is there a way to remove it?

On the MM16, the guard is only friction-fit to those rivets. The back side is just a nub and the guard has holes and you just squeeze it on. It's tight but it should just pop off.

Thanks Chris. I drilled out the rivets. If I want to put it back, can always use a couple of small screws.
