Saint Nick or at least Saint USPS showed up today with a couple of new tools. In an earlier post I showed the new name stamp but Saint USPS also had a package from Bad Axe, one of their new 12" dovetail saws. As I've posted before Mark has my PayPay number and knows how to tickle it.http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh222/VTXAZ/stampNameBadAxe20150509_zpsnelz2hbh.jpg

Thou doth sucketh, mightily.

PS - Does the center batten in your benchtop reverse to act as a stop?

Jim,

Yes I do :D.

Here is the saw's glamor shot:

I had thought my saw collection was complete until Mark came up with this one. It hits all my dovetail saw buttons, a narrow 12" saw plate, open tote, and enough bling to make me smile when I pick it up.

On this bench the batten serves as only a tool holder and split fill. The bench in the background has a split fill that will act as a stop but I found I never used that function so I didn't add it to this build. BTW, most of the touted reasons to build a split top bench I have not found to be that useful but I doubt I will ever build another solid top bench, the ease of build of a split top trumps everything else. Plus the split fill makes a dandy and very useful tool holder.

The jury is split on the tops.

I use mine all the time, and it took three iterations to arrive there.

The real difference between the version you've got and mine is the size of
the opening between the long boards - I can get a Welder's F-clamp in mine.

You still suck.
