I just replaced the original blades (3) that came on my Dewalt DW735, can I get a couple of recommendations to get these sharpened or is it better to replace?

Thanks,
Tim

I don't think those were designed to be sharpened. If you take much off of them, they probably won't protrude enough to do the job. And with the locating pins, you can't move them out.

That being said, I think some people have lightly sharpened them successfully.

Tim, i purchased these (http://www.ebay.com/itm/300732744582 - $15.99 & free shipping) for my Ridgid jointer despite their advertised application for a Craftsman jointer. They are the same size, made of HSS, fit perfectly, and they were sharp & true. Although these were for a jointer, I submit this as a recommendation for this seller. He was great to deal with and may have replacement planer blades that might also fit the DW735. I plan on doing this myself in the near future. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. If pursuing this be sure to get a set of (3) rather than (2), or multiple orders that allow for sets of (3).

Also look at infinity planer blades as a replacement. Supposedly last longer and even have some that can be sharpened.

Tim, I found these http://www.ebay.com/itm/POWERTEC-HSS-Planer-Blades-for-DeWalt-13in-Planer-DW735-/331455202342?hash=item4d2c450426&vxp=mtr for $49.99. However, HD has the replacement blades as well http://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWALT-13-in-Disposable-Planer-Knives-DW7352/202248667?MERCH=RV-_-rv_gm_pip_rr-_-202248667-_-202248667-_-N for the same price. Of the two sources I would recommend HD as any returns would be easier.
With a recent "engagement" with a hidden nail, it looks like I'll be buyuing a set p;laner blades today myself.

Oops! Just noticed this http://www.ebay.com/itm/POWERTEC-128000-13-Inch-Planer-Knives-for-DeWalt-DW735-HSS-Set-of-3-/291269221781?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43d0ff9d95 $40.99
