I'm doing some engraving/cutting and all of a sudden the head stops moving and the exhaust fans shut down. Is it possible the just over heated? Not any hotter in here than it has been in the past, maybe even a bit cooler. Any ideas what the problem may be and, more importantly, how to fix it? I did try the breakers, doesn't appear to be the problem.

I left the machine powered off for a while then when I turned it back on the fans do not turn, though they do "twitch" a small bit. It also does not try to find the home position, though I can move everything manually, even when powered on.

Thanks,
Steve

Of course you shut the machine down and rebooted the computer, checked the power at the plugs, in-line fuses, plugs to machine from wall to verify power, all connections, pulled all ribbon & standard cables and reseated.......nothing worked ..head and table still do not move... even manually.... sorry can't help.

If I was going to "guess" at an answer, first choice would be power supply issue. Perhaps internal fuse or circuit breaker, even as simple as power to the machine. If you have a meter this would be the first thing I would check. IF you can move the stepper or servo motors by hand, with power on, that is not good sign.

Steve,

If you haven't, yet, contacted tech support, that's your best bet.

Just got off the phone with them a couple hours ago, they are pretty sure it's the power supply. New one on the way. OUCH! :)
