In the midst of restoring an old Stanley 110 block plane, and was thinking about a replacement iron. The original is somewhat salvageable, but a new iron might make life easier on the resto.
This puppy looks as if it was stored poorly, but the basic guts are good.
Your thoughts on replacement without going to some exotic unobtainium iron???

You can pick them up lots of places. Like I always say, "Google it".

My recollection is the blade for a #110 doesn't have a cutout. Not sure if the one in the picture is low enough to not interfere with the lever cap screw.

The notches on the underside might hang up on the frog of some #110s.

Not ever having handled a #110 I am ignorant of the blade configuration. There are several on ebay. They do not have the slot in them. Looking at the 110 plane does lend one to think that the slot would be a problem.

I have one with the slot and one without and the blades are interchangeable. The slot stops about 1/4 from the peg on the cap lock.

Good to have someone with the actual hardware on hand to offer an answer based on empirical evidence.
