Hi Everyone:

I decided to pick up one of the Mujingfang "High Angle Smoother" planes to tackle a tricky piece of maple that I'm using for a small desktop.

What is your experience with the fit and finish of these planes? Are chips around the cheek, mouth, and the holes for the handle par for the course?

I didn't buy the plane as a looker, but I'm just wondering what their general standards are.

I haven't put it to work yet. I'm working on the blade. That is a hard blade....

Thanks in advance!

I would describe the fit and finish of mine as "very good". No chips in the areas you describe other than a few very very small ones (insignificant really).
