Hi guys. I'm trying to clean out my 2-car garage workshop...getting way to crowded in there. I have a good sized accessible storage bldg and attic. Would it be okay to store sheet goods, including plywood, mdf, particle board, etc., in my attic? Of course I realize it gets to 130F, or so, up there, but I'd rather ruin a few (typical not full size 8 x 4s) pieces than store them in my workshop.

I really appreciate this forum.

The first consideration is whether or not the attic can support the total weight of what you plan to store there.

Put a 2x4 from the floor to a joist where there is a lot of weight. I put an outlet on the one I have.
I never had a problem storing up there in the heat.

be very careful. If you have trusses they are not designed for a load on the horizontal members. We made a storage attic above the garage. Before we did we consulted a structural engineer and he had me sister 2 by 8s on the horizontal members. Also we don't put much up there, mostly christmas decorations, stereo boxes, light weight stuff.
